Vegan Festival

Vegan Festival

Since 2020, Kathmandu VegFest has become an annual tradition at Sneha’s Care. Held in the heart of Kathmandu, this vibrant festival goes beyond a typical event. It’s a melting pot of community, education, and of course, delicious plant-based food!
Imagine a diverse crowd – curious students, passionate animal welfare representatives, and even government officials – all united by a common thread: compassion. Our festival bustles with vendors offering a cornucopia of plant-based delights, tempting both seasoned plant-based eaters and those exploring this lifestyle. Cruelty-free clothing and other products find new homes, as attendees discover exciting alternatives with a murmur of “wow, I never knew this existed!”

Kathmandu VegFest was started in 2020 with the main objective of promoting plant-based living. In Nepal, the concept of veganism is relatively new, leading to low participation of the people initially in the year 2020. With years passed by, the number of people participation in Vegfest event has increased significantly. Hence, events like VegFest are crucial for raising awareness within the Kathmandu Valley.

The number of plant-based vendors has grown significantly during the Vegfest. We have had 75 stalls on the year 2024, that promoted plant based foods, clothing’s, cosmetics, candles, chocolates, drinks and so on. When we look back to the year 2020, we have had very few stalls. And it is incredible to witness this huge growth and consciousness in plant based foods and product over the last few years. This growth has played a huge role in spreading awareness about living and thriving without harming animals. Kathmandu VegFest goes beyond the marketplace. We do the Documentary screenings which unveil the sufferings of animals in the slaughter house, suffering during animal transport as well as animal farming, fostering conversations and a sense of responsibility.

In addition, documentary screening, live music and dance performances infuse the day with joy, a vibrant reminder that compassion can be contagious. The atmosphere is electric – informative, thought-provoking, and undeniably fun. It’s a celebration of life, a testament to the power of conscious choices, and a glimpse into a future brimming with kindness for all creatures.

We invite you to join us at the next Kathmandu VegFest 2025 – an experience that will nourish your body, mind, and spirit.  Please visit our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ktmVegfest to stay updated.
