Greetings! This is Carole. Being one of the two buffaloes at Sneha’s Care Farm Animal Sanctuary, most animals here fear our large size but looks can be deceiving as I am a gentle being who loves being hand-fed. Our caretaker, Maya, also gives great chin scratches which I really enjoy. I love getting attention from the visitors and have grown accustomed to interacting with humans. 

 Just like Nola, I was rescued from the back of a Tata Mobile truck from Lagankhel, Lalitpur, where we were brought from Sarlahi. The travelling conditions were horrible, as six of us buffaloes were cramped into a small area, where our horns, bodies collided with each other during the journey. My body was covered with wounds, along with my horns and eyes all bloodied up. We were not allowed to sit as the handler hit us several times if we sat down. The pain was excruciating, with hunger and dehydration making the situation worse. Hopefully, my agony was noticed by our Dear Sneha Shrestha and I was saved from there immediately. I was delivered to the Sneha’s Care Farm Animal Sanctuary along with Nola. There were proper medical personnel to take care of our wounds at the sanctuary and we made a recovery in no time. We are really lucky to have been saved from being slaughtered. But there are a lot of farm animals like me at the sanctuary and we expend a lot of resources from the organization.
